Fire protection of air ducts

The TEKSOTERM line includes a dedicated polyacrylic enamel for metal ventilation and air-conditioning ducts and flue gas ducts. It provides fire resistance ratings of EI 30, EI 45 and EI 60 and is produced water-based and solvent-based: the former is applied from +5 to +35 °C, the latter from −15 to +35 °C. Black steel is first primed with an anti-corrosion primer whose compatibility is agreed with the manufacturer, while galvanised ducts are painted without a primer. The coating colour is matt white; it lasts 10–30 years, with the exact period determined by the conditions in which the duct operates.
