Ultraplat bentonite cord — swelling profile for construction joints
The Ultraplat bentonite cord is laid in the construction joint before concreting: the flexible profile on a bentonite-rubber base swells when wetted and seals the joint. Swelling after 5 h is at least 200%, after 24 h at least 400%, and resistance to hydrostatic pressure is 7 atm. The cord is installed in a continuous loop on rubber adhesive or mesh, joined butt-to-butt or overlapped without welding; installation is possible from −15 to +50 °C, including during reconstruction of service penetrations.
