Cementitious grouts

Gidrobeton KRIO-1 is a flowable non-shrink mix on special binders with fibre and aggregate up to 2.5 mm, placed into formwork at air temperatures down to −10 °C. The manufacturer describes it as a grout under bearing parts of columns, industrial equipment and bridge and overpass superstructures, and as a compound for installing anchors and repairing structures. After placing, the mix is covered with film and insulation for one day; after 1 day the compressive strength is at least 30 MPa, frost resistance F1 500.

Application methodat sub-zero temperatures: high-precision grouting under bearing parts of columns and industrial equipment, grouting under bearing parts of bridge and overpass superstructures, installation of anchors, repair of structures by pouring into formwork, strengthening, restoring the protective cover, waterproofing; the substrate must be clean and sound: remove snow and ice, plaster, paint, whitewash, loose and delaminated concrete down to “sound” concrete (with a rotary hammer), dust, dirt and oils; clean exposed rebar of concrete around its full circumference for 20 mm and of rust; saturate the surface with water, remove the excess with a rag; at air temperatures from -10 to +5 °C warm the substrate and saturate it with hot water; water 2.75–3.5 l per 25 kg, mixing with a construction mixer for 3–5 min; adding water after the second mixing is prohibited; store the dry mix in a warm room until pouring; placing into formwork with compaction by vibration or rodding, levelling with a screed rule, spatula or mason’s trowel
