The laminated version of SAB 5 is supplemented with a polyethylene film, which faces the more aggressive side during installation. Thanks to the film, the mat is impermeable, resistant to media with pH from 1 to 13 and withstands static puncture of at least 2.2 kN. Inside is activated sodium bentonite in a needle-punched polypropylene carrier, a 5 × 40 m roll weighs 1,116 kg; applications include liners for landfills, oil and gas facilities, hydraulic structures and tailings storage facilities.
