BIRSS 53 SR — R3 mix for dry-mix and wet-mix shotcreting
Shotcrete mix for repairing and protecting structures, supporting mine workings, tunnel linings, silos and cooling towers; 40 MPa in compression at 28 days.

Unlike the quartz-based UK-1, UK-2 contains a graded corundum filler, so the topping is intended for floors under high service loads. The mix is trowelled into fresh concrete by machine or by hand in two passes; the surface achieves frost resistance grade F2150 and water impermeability W8. The coating is moderately resistant to alkalis up to 8 %, mineral oils and petroleum products — fuel oil, petrol, kerosene and diesel.
