MBR is produced to GOST 15836-79 from petroleum bitumen, crumb rubber and plasticiser, and the grade number — 65, 75, 90 or 100 — corresponds to the minimum softening point in degrees. The mastic, heated to 160–180 °C, is applied in one coat to a primed substrate. It is used to insulate underground steel pipelines and structures against soil corrosion, fill joints and cracks in roofs, bond roll materials and vapour barriers, and waterproof culverts, retaining walls and supports. Water saturation over 24 h is not more than 0.2%; packaging — 14 kg boxes or 25 kg bags.
