VPM-2 grey water-emulsion intumescent fire protection paste

Fire protection of steel structures

Instead of concrete encasement or plastering on mesh, steel structures in enclosed premises can be coated with VPM-2 paste. The material has two components: a thick-ground paste on a water binder with three types of fillers (gas-forming, heat-resistant and fibrous) and granulated ammophos; the prepared working mix is used within one day. Fire protection performance is up to R45 at humidity not above 80 %, temperatures up to +35 °C and in the absence of aggressive vapours and gases. It is applied mechanically or with a trowel at +10…+35 °C; the kit consists of three 47 kg drums of paste and a 50 kg bag of ammophos.
