Fire protection of air ducts

SPLEND-90 differs from the lower-rated SPLEND systems in its thermal insulation layer: instead of non-woven fabric, it uses the TEKh MAT KF foil-faced mineral wool mat, and the air duct achieves an EI90 fire resistance rating. The mat is glued to the duct with the high-adhesion NATRSIL-S 541 compound, applied with a plastering and mixing unit, trowel or brush; laying is done on the wet layer, and the seams are covered with aluminium tape. NATRSIL-S 541 is packed in 25 kg polyethylene containers, the mats in 5 × 1 m rolls.
