Kristallizol water repellent is supplied as a concentrate based on methyl siliconates: a litre of it is poured, while stirring, into 30 l of clean water, and after 5–10 min the impregnation is ready. It is applied by brush, roller or sprayer to dry concrete, brick, gypsum, wood, plaster and facades to protect them from atmospheric moisture and capillary suction. The impregnation does not form a surface film, so the material retains its vapour permeability, colour and texture while starting to repel water and dirt. Through injectors, the compound is also used for cut-off waterproofing of brick masonry.
