Fire protection of steel structures

In winter, fire protection work on steel can be carried out with DEKOTERM-R paint: this compound on a solvent-based binder is applied at temperatures down to −20 °C. The maximum fire resistance rating is 120 minutes; EAEU certificates have been issued for R45, R60, R90 and R120, and the expansion ratio is at least 20. In the open atmosphere, moderately aggressive environments and under radioactive contamination the coating is covered with a finish coat; the service life is at least 25 years. Until dry, the paint is highly flammable.
