Fire protection of steel structures

VUP-2 is based on an aqueous polyvinyl acetate dispersion with fire retardants and fillers. The paint is applied to load-bearing steel in industrial, residential and public buildings with a non-aggressive environment, giving fire protection up to R90; outdoors it is used only under a topcoat enamel. The seismic resistance of the coating is 9 points on the MSK-64 scale, including nuclear power plants of categories I and II. It is applied by a high-pressure unit or brush at temperatures not below +5 °C; intercoat drying takes 6 hours at +20 °C.
